The well-planned OP wing provides a quality out patient care. The Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme run by the department provides free sputum examination and treatment for all Tuberculosis Patients attending the hospital.

The teaching programme comprises various symposia, seminars, guest lecturers, practical training courses, etc. to help medical students attain knowledge and skill in the specialty.

The Department has been regularly undertaking need-oriented clinical research in the field of tuberculosis, MDR-TB, AIDS and other respiratory diseases.
