Department of Ophthalmology at NRI Medical College and General Hospital is a comprehensive centre for the eye care, education and research offering both primary and advanced ophthalmic services to the rural and urban populations of Guntur district and beyond. The Department is committed to excellence through comprehensive clinical care, structured medical education, training and research in visual sciences bringing positive changes in eye care sector by providing quality eye care services. As we are equipped with superspecialities, high-risk patients with multiple comorbidities referred from other ophthalmic institutions are successfully operated in our institute. In NRI Academy of Sciences, Department of Ophthalmology is dedicated in making high quality eye care accessible to all by offering treatments at significantly affordable rates. It also plays an important role academically in nurturing the next generation of Ophthalmology professionals by training PG & UG students, allied and health care students using highly equipped & structured training programs with intake of 6 post graduates, 40 allied and health care students every year.
